SLES 70 is synthesized industrially by ethoxylation of dodecyl from palm alcohol oil or Coconut oil.The resulting ethoxylate is converted to a halfsufuric acid ester which is neutralized by conversion to the sodium salt. This active surface sodium laurylsulfate (also known as sodium dosyl orsDS) is produced in the same way, ethoxylation is synthesized.
